MY STORY & PHILOSOPHY
I'm Emily, the maker behind Wonky Wabbit Studio.
I first discovered ceramics after suffering a stroke in my 20s, I ended up having brain surgery and became unable to return to work; this left me with a deep sense of loss, especially around my identity. I had always been drawn to ceramics, peeking my head through any window that had a class on!
After a bit of two-ing and fro-ing, I decided to brave it and attend a ceramics class, I loved it and from there Wonky Wabbit Studio was born! I found a passion I never knew I had, it was my light when I was in a horribly dark place, my sense of purpose when I felt I had none and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
I'm now so pleased to be able to share my makes with you. I enjoy focusing on pieces that bring a sense of calm, mindfulness and peaceful enjoyment. I hope to advocate for others who may also feel that their life is no longer the one they were used to, to show that adaptation is possible, with kindness. I truly hope you enjoy using my pieces as much as I have making them.
Proud to have been an artist on BBCs 'Make it at Market' Season 2 (episode 2)
